Frontend Engineer - User Identity
We are looking to grow our team with a Frontend Engineer who is also comfortable working with Node.js services and AWS.
Who we are
Our democracies depend on independent journalism. At Schibsted, we provide the technology behind some of the leading media brands in the Nordics - products that reach millions of people every day.
The User Identity team builds essential services like login, account management, and consent handling, enabling our users to engage safely and meaningfully across all Schibsted platforms.
We're growing, and we’re especially eager to bring in new perspectives that reflect our broad audience.
What we do
We’re a cross-functional, product-focused team with end-to-end ownership of key user identity services. You’ll work with engineers, designers, and product managers to solve meaningful problems, ranging from compliance and privacy to identity and user management.
We work collaboratively with pairing, code reviews, and async-friendly rituals
We dedicate 10% of our time (every second Friday) to learning, experimenting, or sharing knowledge
We take part in company-wide hackathons and contribute to internal learning communities
We aim to follow Agile principles in a way that supports our team autonomy
Our Tech stack
We mostly use JavaScript / TypeScript in our products, with Node, React and Github Actions, we leverage AWS services (EKS, Lambda, SNS / SQS).
Sourcepoint is our 3rd party Consent Management Platform provider for handling behavioral data.
About you
We’re looking for a Junior or Mid frontend engineer who is excited by the idea of building user-centric products. Whether that’s integrating third-party platforms like Sourcepoint or designing internal tooling.
You’ll likely bring:
Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, including React and Node.js
Interest or experience with Consent Management Platforms and privacy-related engineering
Understanding of web performance, scalability, and implementation constraints across environments
Familiarity with CI/CD, unit testing, GitHub workflows, and documentation
Familiarity with AWS services (e.g. Lambda, SQS/SNS) is a plus, but not required.
You enjoy solving meaningful problems in a collaborative environment and care about building systems that are both technically sound and user-respectful.
What we offer
A team culture that puts learning and growth at its center
Opportunities to shape how design systems and identity services evolve across the company
A flexible work setup that supports both focus time and collaboration, with hybrid working as the norm (up to 3 days in our office)
The chance to work on high-impact products used across leading media brands in the Nordics
